There’s a historical story about Walter Tull which is being changed into a play.
Walter Tull is the grandson of a Barbadian slave, orphaned at eight years old but above the odds rose to achieve so much.
Walter was a football, not just a footballer but apart from facing many challenges he achieved his goal to be the first black footballer at the highest level of the domestic game in UK.
So many people of colour have reached their sporting goals and more. However, it is easier now than it was then.
Walter Tull was also the first man of his heritage to be commissioned as an Officer in the British Army.
So, it is with great sense of pride to be sharing the good news about the play, about Walter Tull’s pioneering achievements and how those achievements has earned him a distinguished place in British history
