Our force is recruiting for police officers via the Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP).
This welcome return of an established entry route is open to all candidates over the age of 17 who meet the eligibility criteria and who do not wish to work towards an academic qualification in tandem with becoming a police officer.
The Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP) is a 2-year programme of initial learning:
➡️ No requirement for a degree to apply
➡️ No requirement for A-levels to apply
➡️ To be eligible for this entry route you must have GCSE English and Maths (Grades 9-4/A*-C) and meet our other eligibility criteria – more details here.
If you do not hold a degree, but would like to attain one, then you can apply for our Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) entry route, this 3-year programme of initial learning ensures that officers foundation learning is accredited with a Degree in Professional Policing Practice upon successful completion. Our PCDA entry route is also open for applications.
If you are a degree-holder, the force is also currently accepting applications for our 2-year Police Constable - Degree Holder Entry Programme (PC-DHEP).
