Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses


Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault in Caversham.


At around 4.20pm on Tuesday (29/6), the victim, a 12-year-old girl, was approached by the offender near to the junction of Oakley Road and Kidmore Road, on the hill side.


The offender touched her inappropriately over her clothing and the victim ran away.


The offender is described as a Hispanic man, aged around 20, approximately 5ft 7ins tall or shorter. He was wearing a camouflage face mask, a light grey hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.


Investigating officer, Detective Constable Maggie Bruce, of Reading CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.


“I would also urge any motorists who were in the local area around the time of this incident to please check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured what happened or something that could help our investigation.


“Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101, or making a report online, quoting reference 43210286686.


“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
