Sexual assaults in Reading

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a series of sexual assaults in Tilehurst and surrounding areas.

We have received four reports between March and June in Norcot, Tilehurst, Kentwood and Southcote, the most recent of which was on Thursday 10 June and happened between the junctions of Circuit Lane and Leibenrood Road at 10am and 10.10am.

It appears the victims are all women aged between their early twenties to their late thirties. In each of the cases a man has ridden up behind the victims and hit them on the bottom with considerable force before the offender has made off.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his twenties, with brown hair, on a dark coloured bike. He was also believed to be wearing a black baseball cap.

Investigating officer, PC Adam Child based at Reading police station, said: “I appreciate that this may come as a concern to people, but I would like to reassure everyone that we are investigating thoroughly and take reports of this nature very seriously.

“I am appealing for witnesses to these offences or to anyone else who may have been a victim.

“I am also appealing for anyone who was driving on the junctions of Circuit Lane and Leibenrood Road on Thursday to please check any dash-cam footage that may capture this latest incident.

“Anyone with information should call 101 quoting reference 43210253078.”
