Peace of Mind Matters project – Citizens Advice Reading


The Peace of Mind Matters project at Citizens Advice is a new service which can help support with advice and guidance after the death of a loved one. It can advise on practicalities such as:

  • who can make arrangements after a death

  • who to inform after a death

  • information on what happens after someone dies

  • information on organ donation

  • obtaining a medical certificate of death

  • registering the death

  • arranging the funeral

  • telling government departments about the death

  • the ‘Tell us once’ service

  • Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) bereavement service and looking at finances

  • sorting out property and belongings

  • redirection of mail

Peace of Mind also help with planning for the future, this is so helpful and a comfort knowing that you have put things into place that will helpful for the future.


The Peace of Mind Matters project can help you look at various aspects of planning such as:

  • Lasting Power of Attorney

  • Will writing/update

  • Funeral planning

  • Advance Care Plans

  • Looking at finances

  • Organ donation

  • Care of dependents

  • Advocacy

  • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
