Make Bleed Control Kits Mandatory in All Public Places !! I am a mother, forever mourning the loss of my beautiful 12-year-old daughter, Ava White.
On November 25th, 2021, Ava was out enjoying the Christmas light switch on in a busy town centre when she was tragically taken from me due to knife crime. Since then, The Ava White Foundation has been donating bleed control kits to help reduce deaths from catastrophic bleeding. To date, these kits have saved five lives.
Bleed control kits are simple yet effective tools that can be used by anyone to stop severe bleeding before medical professionals arrive on scene. They contain items such as tourniquets and pressure dressings that can make the difference between life and death.
According to a study published in the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (2018), bystanders using bleed control techniques can significantly improve survival rates for trauma victims with severe bleeding. Yet these lifesaving tools are not readily available in all public places where they could potentially save lives.
We need your support to make it mandatory for all public places like shopping centres, schools and transport hubs to have accessible bleed control kits.
This is not just about preventing tragedies like what happened to my daughter; it's about equipping everyday people with the means to save lives during emergencies.
Please sign this petition today - let's ensure no more families suffer unnecessary loss due to lack of immediate access to bleed control equipment.
