Wednesday 19th June has been declared Sickle Cell Awareness day. To mark the occasion the Watford African Caribbean Association Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Support Group is organising a virtual Zoom meeting on that date starting at 6.30pm.
This will provide an opportunity to explore the current issue, share knowledge and experiences and raise awareness of this important issue in the African heritage community. We will be joined by a number of experts and people with experiences in this area.
Our speakers will include John James (CEO of the Sickle Cell Society), Dr Carl Reynolds (medical advisor on Sickle Cell Inequalities in NHS healthcare at the NHS Race and Health Observatory) and Asiawu Imam (the Adult Sickle Cell Nurse at Watford General Hospital).
Please join us for this session and remember to extend invitation to family and friends.
