Benjamin passed away at the age of 65 after being dianoised with a brain tumour eight weeks ago. He is bar far one of the most famous black poet and writer we have seen in the UK and was known worldwide.
The poet turned down and OBE in 2023 adding that he he wa profoundly anti-empire.
He begged Tony Blair to meet and discuss crime in Britain and told the Queen to stop 'going on about the empire'.
