Appeal for witnesses following assault – Reading


Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Reading.


Officers were called to a report of an assault in Oxford Road, Reading at around 11.30pm on Tuesday (10/8).

A man in his forties was taken to hospital with a head injury where he remains at this time.


A 34-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and a 13-year-old boy from Tilehurst was arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. Both have been released on police bail.


Investigating officer, Detective Constable Dominique Roe, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this assault, or anyone who may have information about what happened, to please come forward.
